Gifted Paw was founded by Sam and Kara, two devoted pet parents who believe that pets aren't just animals—they’re family.
After retiring from a 30-year business career, Sam found himself reflecting on what mattered most: the unconditional love and joy shared with family and pets. Around the same time, during the COVID pandemic, Kara became active in online pet communities. She participated in several pet gift exchanges and discovered they were about much more than the items themselves—they built excitement, anticipation, and genuine connections among pet owners.
When Kara’s favorite gift exchange group disbanded, she searched for a replacement but realized a massive gap existed. She knew she wasn't the only pet parent craving that sense of belonging and shared joy.
After months of planning, Sam and Kara have teamed up with a development team to build the community they wished existed. Gifted Paw was born to bring pet lovers together through meaningful gift exchanges and lasting connections. We are a welcoming space where pets are celebrated, friendships are formed, and the joy of giving is experienced year-round.

When I retired after 30 years in business, I began to think deeply about what a meaningful legacy looks like. For me, it comes down to a deliberate choice to honor the things that bring us pure goodness—and nothing embodies unwavering, unconditional love quite like our pets. Gifted Paw isn't just a business project for me; it is the living expression of these core principles.
To those I love, and to those who may one day wonder who I was:
I have learned that a life is not defined by its intentions, but by its choices. Every decision carries consequence, and together those decisions become a life’s true purpose.
I was blessed early with a great gift: unwavering love. From my parents—especially my mother—I learned that love is not merely a feeling, but a commitment expressed through daily action. They made their choices so that their only child, Sammy, would believe his path forward could be good. That belief has guided me ever since.
My faith taught me that love and commitment are not burdens; they are callings.
I never believed that age was a reason to stop learning. I read, reflected, and stayed curious because growth honors both God and those we love.
Staying engaged—with ideas, with people, with the changing world—is an act of respect. It says: you matter enough for me to keep up.
If you take anything from my life, let it be this:
I trust that a life lived this way leads not only to meaning here, but to lasting joy and harmony beyond this life, with those we hold closest.
May you walk forward unafraid, grounded in love, and confident that your path—too—can be good.
